PDP Groups Strategise To Stop Rep Benjamin Mzondo From Reelection In 2023

A coalition of political groups on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency, Benue State under the auspices of Arc. Jerry Agber, Advancement Team, Saturday, converge on Apir, the headquarters of Ugondo-Masev, people of Makurdi Local Government Area to perfect strategies to remove from office, the House of Representatives member for Makurdi/Guma, Federal Constituency, Benjamin Mzondo, for alleged lack of performance.

Addressing thousands of supporters at Apir, that saw at least 20 support groups in attendance stated that the people of Guma, have decided to settle for Arc. Agber, for the purpose of equity, fair play and justice arguing that the aspiration of the contestant was coming at the right time on the basis that both Ihyarev of Makurdi, Guma and Nongov people comprising the Federal Constituency have all enjoyed their turns, remaining the Masev people of Makurdi, Local Government where the aspirant hails from.

Mike Ortom, younger brother to Governor Samuel Ortom, also insisted that the believe of the Tiv in eating and sharing with a brother must not be allowed to die, instead it should play prominently in the case of the House of Representatives hopeful, pointing out that it will equally give the minority a sense of belonging.

According to Mr. Ortom, Arc. Jerry needed to be supported by the youths especially, youths from Makurdi, on the account that he was born and bred in Wadata, calling also the elders to support him because he has proven to be a worthy son, through his community service in different parts of the Constituency and even in his private and personal capacity in far away Canada. He further expressed hope that he would do more if given a mandate to represent the people through an election.

Mr. Mike who said those that are supporting Arc. Agber, have taken a wise decision as his candidature was a sure win, charged the sisters to be peaceful, friendly and civil in the cause of enlightening the public on why Agber, should succeed the incumbent, adding that they should equally canvas support for the aspirant without fear.

In his welcome address, DG, Arc. Agber, campaign organization, Jacob Tarkende, and another stakeholder of the advancement team, Mr. Michael Antwar, who also represented the aspirant at the occasion expressed appreciation to the people of Makurdi/Guma LGAs for insisting that the right thing be done by supporting the candidature of their principal. He assured that with the vast knowledge of the aspirant, could be trusted giving his personal achievements even without an elective position,they were optimistic that support of the people will not be in vain.

Also speaking separately,Mr. Williams Sember- Ityoshin, Jacob Agbo- Ipusu,Tyoyila Frederick- Isherev and Sadiq Abubakar- Hausa Community,all acknowledged the contributions of the house of representatives hopeful for Makurdi/Guma, for his personal contributions to the Constituency.

They both expressed displeasure that the present occupant has made no impact in terms of providing dividends of democracy to the people as could be seen as done by representatives of other people and expressed appreciation to all the groups for standing by the aspirant but particularly charged the newly inaugurated Agber sisters Ugondo chapter, to go all out and preach the good news concerning the contestants to enable him clinch the seat.

Responding, president Arc. Agber, sisters Ugondo,Miss Doosuur Labe, expressed appreciation to the people of Makurdi/Guma, for ensuring that Ugondo, people were not cheated by rallying round their son and assured that they will take the project seriously to ensure that success was achieved.
