Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum, has commiserated with former governor of Kaduna State, Ahmed Makarfi, over the demise of his son, Faisal Makarfi.
Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Chairman of the forum, accompanied by Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, visited the former governor on Monday in Kaduna.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that Faisal, the first son of the ex-governor, died in an auto crash on Saturday along Zaria-Kaduna highway.
Speaking, Mohammed, who led a Muslim prayer, condoled with the former governor and his family over the loss.
“We pray that Almighty Allah will console you over this colossal loss; words are not enough to convey our heartfelt condolences but may Allah grant him aljannah firdausi.
“May Allah reward this young man who has come within this short time and contributed his own quota to life and has returned.
“We know that you are a very strong person, you will take this as a test from Allah and may Allah grant you the courage to bear this loss”, Mohammed prayed.
Responding, Makarfi commended the governors for the show of camaraderie spirit, particularly for identifying with him in his time of grief.
He said that “death is an act of God and no man has the power to prevent when the time for it comes”
“After we spoke, you are one of the first group to come visit me in spite of your very busy schedules. I am grateful.
“I am aware you recently conducted the local government elections in your states couple with other activities and challenges, yet, you created the time to come.
”I am deeply grateful for the show of support.
“As a family we have accepted this as an act of God which no man can prevent and I am strengthened by your show of support.
“I appreciate you and your colleagues in the forum for the show of support, God bless you all”, he said.
