Team Nigeria athletes are exhibiting different kits of many colours and design that is depicting discordant tunes between the Sports Ministry and the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC)
According to a reliable source in the Sports Ministry, the official kits of Team Nigeria athletes was unveiled in Abuja few weeks ago and it is shocking to see different kits meant for the same athletes by NOC
“I think there is a mischief somewhere, strictly to sabotage the efforts of the Sports Ministry. Our athletes are having two different kits, that is wrong.
“Sports Minister, Senator John Enoh had already waded into the matter and we hope that this will not repeat itself in the future,” the source said.
However, an official of the NOC who pleaded to be annoymous said that what NOC did was simply to complement the efforts of the Sports Ministry.
“I don’t think there is a crisis. The Olympics is NOC event. The NOC is under the that administers the Olympic games and in Nigeria, the NOC and Sports ministry work together.
“Active black kit deal signed by NOC for Team Nigeria has no ill- will intended, that is the pure truth and this should not be a problem,” he said.
