…Say date clashes with Unity Colleges Exam
Concerned parent, Seun Festus has written an open letter to the Nigerian Army Education Corps, calling for the rescheduling of the 2025 entrance examination into NDA Boarding Secondary School in Afaka, Kaduna State.
The letter seen by AljazirahNigeria in Abuja, yesterday, reflects the concerns of numerous parents across the country.
It highlights a significant clash in date between the NDA and the Federal Government Unity Colleges’ entrance examinations, both of which are set for Saturday, June 14.
In the letter, Festus pointed out that this overlap is causing distress for families whose children have applied to both institutions, which each of them promising educational opportunities. Both examinations are critical to the future of these students, and the conflict places many parents in the difficult position of having to choose between the two prestigious examinations.
“These are children who have worked hard and dared to dream. As parents, we have taught them to seize every opportunity that could help shape their future. It is disheartening to now face the reality that they must give up one chance because two important examinations are fixed for the same day,” Festus stated in his appeal.
The letter also emphasized the high regard in which the Nigerian Army Education Corps is held, particularly for instilling discipline, values and a strong sense of order in students. Festus expressed hope that the corps would demonstrate understanding and compassion by rescheduling the examination, even by a week, to allow all students the chance to sit both examinations.
“Your understanding and responsiveness to this appeal will go a long way in reaffirming the trust that Nigerian families have in military-administered schools as centres of excellence, compassion and justice,” Festus concluded.
Parents across the country are anxiously awaiting a response, hoping that the Nigerian Army Education Corps will consider their request for a rescheduled examination, ensuring fairness and opportunity for all students involved.
