Over 5,000 Students To Graduate From FUT Minna

About 5,816 students will participate in the 33rd convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology, FUT, Minna.

Vice Chancellor of the institute, Professor Faruk Kuta stated this at the pre- convocation press briefing held in Minna, yesterday.

Professor Kuta disclosed that out of the number, 4,955 are undergraduates, 632 postgraduates,105 post graduate diplomas, while124 are PHD recipients.

According to him, 119 got first class, second class upper is 1,431, with second class lower 2,341, 972 graduated with third class, as well 92 with pass.

The vice chancellor stated that in line with the commitment of the university, it introduced 13 new accademic programmes to align with contemporary societal needs and global competitiveness.

“This expansion no doubt reflects our commitment of staying at the fore front of academic excellence, preparing our students with the skills and expertise necessary to thrive nationally and globally”, Professor Adamu reinterated.

He said the university has successfully implemented e-learning platforms to enhance teaching, so as to ensure that our graduates are equipped to meet the challenges of the digital age.

The university also established partnership with some world class institutions and organisations. “In view of this, the institute has facilitated the signing and activation of over 30 memoranda of understanding, locally and internationally.

Professor Adamu explained that the university also took staff growth and development as top priority, awarded 94 study fellowships and sponsored 112 staff for workshops and conferences.

Activities lined up for the convocation ceremony will begin on Friday, January 24 with a special jumat prayer at the Central Mosques in Bosso and Gidan Kwano Campuses, while interdenominational church service held on Sunday at the Chapel of Grace, Bosso and Gidan Kwano Campuses respectively.
