A member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Iwo State Constituency, Hon. Adesina Rabiu Atanda, ARA, yesterday promised to give more robust and quality representation as well attract what is due to Iwo State Constituency to it.
He gave this assurance while answering questions from our Correspondent during an exclusive interview in his office.
The Iwo born politician reiterated his determination to continue delivering dividend of democracy to the entire constituency for the betterment of the constituents, while acknowledging the unalloyed support of the constituents, Hon Atanda assures of his readiness to turn around the fortunes of the entire constituency.
The lawmaker posited that, he has put the policy in place to look into the needs of the people and has collated the data, adding that as a grassroots politician he’s with the people and shall pursue vigorously their needs and challenges.
He said despite that they (lawmakers) have not been receiving Constituency Allowance, he had been making sure that dividends of democracy get to the door steps of the constituents from his monthly stipend for him to carry the people along no matter how small or big and he has been doing this since his inauguration till date.
Hon Atanda added that, “Contrary to the allegations making the round recently that I have not done anything for my constituency, our constituency office was sited along D.C School, Olukotun Iwo, where many political issues have been irony out successfully and positively.
“Work is ongoing on another two offices and they will be ready for commissioning in a shortest period of time. Regarding to youths empowerment, skill acquisition and youth empowerment programme which to enhancing productive capacity of the youths in becoming self employed are about to be equipped.
“Also for me to extend the dividends of democracy to the school children in my Constituency, I organised free summer holiday coaching which has already commenced fully for the students in SS1, SS2, and SS3 students as well as free WAEC and JAMB registration for the best three students per center among other developmental and people oriented programmes for the upliftment of all and sundry while my special love for the aged, artisans, market men and women as well as farmers cannot be over emphasised, very soon everybody will definitely benefited from the present administration.
“Similarly, I also want to mention my urgent intervention in a bid to restore electricity for the people of Jagun Ilu, junction, Aiiye, Omosan, Ponkuku and other communities, I have donated electric concrete poles for this purpose and I also paid for the reconnection.
“Also, as part of my intervention at Boluwaduro community, Agoro in Iwo where I paid for the full installation of their transformer, as well as NURTW Iwo chapter, two hundred thousands was donated to them for the rehabilitation of their motor park. There are many things that we have done to support our people but we cannot be shouting that we have done this and that”.
Hon Atanda, who appreciated the entire people of Iwo State Constituency for their love and support to him used the medium to appeal to them not to relent in demonstrating their unflinching support to him and Governor Ademola Adeleke of the state, he concluded.
