An appeal has been launched to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Osun State chapter to zone the 2026 gubernatorial ticket to the Osun West Senatorial District.
This appeal was made by the former Managing Director, Osun State Investment Company, OSICOL, Dr Babatunde Sunday Faleye ,Falex, during the official launching of three dynamic political support groups in Ilesa over the weekend in honor of the governorship ambition of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ,AMBO.
The movements launched include:AMBO Youth Movement, AMBO Progressive Sisters and AMBO Think-Thank Crew.
Dr Faleye who emphasised the need for the party to zone the governorship ticket to Osun West said, the decision would attract and ensure total victory during the forthcoming election as voters will troop out massively to cast their votes for the APC.
The Ijesa born politician described the groups launched as a way to consolidate support across all demographics youth, women, and intellectual circles for the candidacy of Asiwaju M.B. Oyebamiji.
Dr Faleye who is the founder of the Falex Foundation, demonstrated his unflinching support to Oyebamiji’s potential candidacy adding that, the state former Commissioner is the only person that can do it as he has the charisma and all what it takes to return the APC to power in Osun State.
According to Dr Faleye, “We are all here because we believe in Asiwaju Oyebamiji who has everything to govern Osun, he had been texted, he didn’t failed, he is a complete philanthropist who love to put smile on the faces of whoever that comes his way, a devoted Muslim, well connected and caring. By the grace of God, he would lead us all to the government house as we are reclaiming power from the PDP”.
Dr Faleye used the medium to appreciate Gboyega Oyetola’s stewardship, informing that the former Osun State Governor influence had been key to keeping the party stable and energized.
While speaking on the need for the APC to zone the governorship ticket to Osun West Senatorial District, former House of Assembly Speaker, Hon Timothy Owoeye informed of the historical precedence set by other districts, observed that Osun Central had produced a governor for 16 years, while Osun East had occupied the seat for eight years, therefore, it is now the turn of Osun West to lead.
Hon Owoeye also described Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as a man of principle, loyalty, accountability and capability who understands the inner workings of the state machinery saying his previous roles in government cannot be over emphasised. “He is a steady and experienced hand who served with distinction as Finance Commissioner as well as head of OSICOL.
Other speakers at the well attended and colourful political event advocated for the zoning of the governorship ticket to Osun West, in the name of fairness, justice and inclusivity.
They also rallied support for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ,AMBO, the former state Commissioner for Finance and current Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority ,NIWA, describing him as the only suitable candidate to govern and lead the APC in the 2026 election.
