The governor used the occasion to dismiss allegations from leadership of Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore, that killings in the state were taking place because their cattle were being rustled and taken away by Benue people.

He discribed such allegations as an attempt to blackmail his administration and equally mock the people, arguing that the murderers being afraid of self guilt have always failed to tell the world why they were killing Benue farmers on their ancestral homes, having rejected the only known solution between them (herders) and the farmers which has been found to be ranching of their animals, and insisted that no matter the blackmail, his administration would continue to fight against all forms of criminality including cattle rustling of livestock.
