Ortom Expresses Optimism That PDP Will Clear Benue In Forthcoming General Elections

By Henry Ibya, Makurdi

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has expressed optimism that he would hand over power to candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state Mr Titus Uba who he was sure would continue the fight over evil forces standing against the state.

Ortom who spoke yesterday while addressing journalists during his opening remarks at an expanded caucus of the PDP held at Government House Makurdi, said his desire was to transfer power to someone he trusts and would follow his footsteps to ensure that Benue people enjoy peace.

The governor who said no evil person in whatever guise would be allowed to take over Benue and drag the people backward said the meeting was to equally strategize ahead of full time commencement of campaign on how to consolidate power in the next election.

“We shall look at the programme as well as form various campaign committees starting from the ward, then at local government level, we shall thereafter break into group by group and then house to house to create massive awareness for our party members” Ortom revealed

According to the governor, it is expected that those candidates vying for houses of assembly, representatives and the senate would be allowed to go back to their constituencies and mobilize support for the party to clear the polls.

The governor who expressed appreciation to God for the healing granted the party’s governorship candidate Mr Titus Uba who is now back to the country and strong to prosecute his campaign charged party supporters to go back to their places to mobilize Benue people at the grassroot to vote the PDP in the next general election for the party to continue with its good work.
