Ondo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Kayode Ajulo has expressed delight as the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, sets to hold its much-anticipated National Executive Committee, NEC, in Akure, the state capital.
The meeting is slated to hold from today (Wednesday) to Friday, February 7 at the International Cultural and Event Centre, The Dome in Akure.
According to Ajulo, the landmark meeting, drawing over 500 top legal practitioners from across the country, is hailed as a significant milestone for Ondo State.
“This NEC meeting is not just an internal gathering of the NBA; it is a momentous event that highlights the rich legal heritage and progressive vision of Ondo State.
“The convergence of such esteemed legal professionals here will undoubtedly spur dialogue, collaboration and innovation that will positively impact the legal landscape of our state.
“The NEC meeting promises to address critical issues facing the legal community, while fostering an environment for strategic planning and development. Delegates are expected to engage in robust discussions, share best practices and chart the course for a more vibrant and equitable justice system,” Ajulo said.
He added that “Ondo State, in hosting this influential event, stands as a testament to its growing importance as a hub of legal excellence and thought leadership.
“This is in no small part due to the visionary leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, whose commitment to foster innovation, integrity and inclusive progress has elevated Ondo State’s profile nationally.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s inspiring stewardship has not only enhanced the state’s reputation as a center of legal and administrative excellence, but has also energized the broader legal community and stakeholders alike. We are confident that the outcome of this meeting will pave the way for enhanced legal practices and reforms that will benefit the society at large.”
The attorney-general noted that Ondo State exemplified peaceful coexistence and prosperity under the visionary leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa, as his initiatives had created a secure and business-friendly environment where harmony and progress flourish.
The commissioner in a statement made available to AljazirahNigeria said the governor had extended a warm welcome to the esteemed body of lawyers, offering them the full hospitality of Ondo State.
“We are deeply grateful for his gracious reception of these distinguished legal professionals.
“Starting today (Wednesday), these prominent lawyers will arrive Ondo State, where the chief judge will host a cocktail party. Then, on Thursday, the governor, in his characteristic magnanimity, will host a state banquet for the assembly,” the statement added.
He expressed appreciation to the NBA President, Chief Afam Osigwe (SAN), and the General Secretary, DrMobolaji Ojibara, along with the entire leadership of the association, for honouring Ondo with the assembly.
