Oil Theft: Navy Impounds Three Wooden Boats, Arrests Suspects In Bayelsa

Personnel of the Nigerian Navy’s Operation Delta Sanity have intercepted and impounded three wooden boats laden with large amounts of stolen crude oil.

This was disclosed in a statement on its verified Facebook page yesterday.

The statement reads: “Operation DELTA SANITY: On Friday, 8 November 2024, Forward Operating Base FORMOSO intercepted and impounded three wooden boats laden with large amounts of stolen crude oil and illegally refined AGO in Igbomotoro, Southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa State.

“Consequently, two female suspects were apprehended in the process and have been handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps”.
