Chairman of Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, OGSIEC, Mr Babatunde Osibodu has insisted that the commission would conduct free, fair and credible council election on November 16.
Osibodu stated this shortly after screening some candidates contesting on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, stressing that the commission would be just and fair in the conduct of the poll.
He said candidates of political parties vying for positions would be screened and asked the people to place their trust in the commission for a transparent election.
“I have said this several times and I will continue to say that we will conduct a free and fair election for the people of the state.
“Your supporters need to come out boldly without violence, do not be afraid of security forces, bring your supporters out on election day, you will be protected, that is my guarantee to you.
“We shall conduct the election with utmost dignity,” Osibodu said.
