NIM Confers Automatic Membership On NEMA DG, Zubaida Umar For Outstanding Leadership

The Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) has conferred automatic membership of the Institute on the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, in recognition of her outstanding leadership and efforts in positioning the Agency for greater efficiency in the discharge of its responsibilities.

The Registrar of NIM, Mrs. Taiwo Ganiyat Olusesi, who led a delegation of the Institute’s Management and Council members on a working visit to the NEMA headquarters in Abuja, noted that the Institute had closely observed the significant initiatives undertaken by NEMA in the proactive management of disasters across Nigeria, a statement signed by Manzo Ezekiel, Head of NEMA Press Unit said.

She stated that the NIM was pleased to associate with some of NEMA’s key initiatives, particularly the development of strategic plans, proactive flood preparedness, and timely disaster response mechanisms.

Conveying the goodwill of the NIM President, Mrs. Olusesi formally decorated the DG, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, with the membership badge of the Institute.

Responding, the DG NEMA Mrs. Zubaida Umar expressed appreciation to the NIM for the visit and the recognition. She reaffirmed NEMA’s commitment to upholding professional standards, accountability, and innovation in executing its mandate, adding that the Agency’s recent achievements were made possible by the collective dedication of its workforce.
