Nigeria’s Clerics Are Executive Beggars – Naja’atu Muhammad

A renowned politician, Naja’atu Muhammad, has expressed dismay over the conduct of some Nigeria’s clerics describing them as ‘”executive almajiris.”

Muhammad was speaking on Saturday at a town hall meeting with different youth groups under the auspices of Salamah Youth Empowerment and Enlightenment Initiative held in Kano.

She alleged that instead of admonishing leaders to understand their responsibilities, some clerics are fond of eulogising politicians.

”Prophet Muhammmad (SAW) says at the end of the world Clerics will eulogies people in power to get money. This is the time now. We have to rekindle ourselves but unfortunately our clerics are executive almajiri’s.

“I lost hope in politics, I don’t have any interest in politics, I would not politically support any other persons again. It is time to change ourselves outside politics for politics is nothing but detraction.”

She decried how this part of the country has been relegated to the background calling for all hands to be on deck with a view to salvaging the situation.

She enjoined business moguls, government functionaries and reputable politicians to wake up in fighting the menace going by how it has been reaching alarming proportion.

”There are lots of interventions from CBN which they don’t reach the downtrodden. Most of the times these interventions are given to politicians and unfortunately they don’t have interest what so ever in developing the youths.

“I don’t agree that our people don’t apply, they don’t access only because of the corruption in the channels, otherwise this resources are our God given resources does not belong to any single person in power but to all Nigerians.”

In his remarks at the occasion the Commandant of Kano state National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, Isa Likita called for intensive enlightenment on the on the ills of drugs addiction.

Likita who appreciated the idea behind organising the gathering in view of colossal damage drug abuse is causing to youths across the society.

He enjoined political leaders, parents and community leaders to raise up in checkmating the problem in view of it’s effect.

Speaking a University Don, Nazifi Abubakar Drama, called on Northerners to register themselves in various skills acquisition training being provided by Central Bank with a view to fighting idleness and competing with people from the other part of the country.
