Human rights activists have described President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s policies as anti- masses.

The rights groups who staged a demonstration in Ibadan, Oyo State, yesterday to protest the hardship faced by Nigerians, declared that they are dying of hunger.

At Mokola Roundabout rally, one of the coordinators, Professor Ademola Aremu told the gathering that June 12 is a Democracy Day that was supposed to mark the liberation of Nigerians.

Aremu, a lecturer at the University of Ibadan, lamented that President Tinubu’s administration is killing Nigerians with bad policies, making us poorer on a daily basis.

“Look at security, people are being killed every day by Fulani herdsmen or you call them bandits, farmers are being killed, their wives raped. No food for us to eat. As a result of fuel subsidy removal, fuel pump price rose from N180 per liter to over N1000. This government is not making money available to run universities and other tertiary institutions well. Graduates today cannot secure employment.

“The money this government is making through removal of fuel subsidy is being given to few political office holders. Governors are receiving billions of naira on a monthly basis, members of the House representative receive N1 billion, while their brothers in the Senate collect N2 billion yearly for constituency allowance, while Nigerians are dying of hunger.

“We are telling Mr President today that this cannot continue. You should stop playing politics with 6

life of Nigerians and settle down for proper governance. He should introduce policies that will take care of Nigerians,” he said.
