A young Nigerian barber, Joshua Aiyenuro popularly known as T-Jos, has clocked 32 hours in his ongoing attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest haircut marathon.

The event, currently taking place at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, has drawn attention from across the country, with supporters and well-wishers turning out in numbers to cheer him on.

T-Jos, who is also the official barber of the Super Eagles, began the challenge on Monday, June 10, and has shown remarkable resilience and focus as he aims to carve his name into the record books. The previous record for the longest haircut marathon stands at 72 hours and 40 minutes.

In a statement shared ahead of the attempt, T-Jos expressed his desire to not only break the record but also use the platform to promote skill acquisition, youth empowerment, and job creation through the barbing profession. He revealed plans to establish thousands of barbing points across the country and train young Nigerians who are passionate about the craft.

The haircut-a-thon has also received backing from various organisations, including the African Civil Society Forum (AFRICSOF), and public figures who see the event as a positive step toward youth-led innovation and entrepreneurship.

As of the time of filing this report, T-Jos has completed over 32 hours of nonstop haircuts and remains focused on reaching and possibly surpassing the 72-hour mark required to set a new Guinness World Record.
