Nigeria’s female representatives at the 2025 African Cup for Club Hockey Championship secured a bronze medal on Friday after defeating Mombasa Hockey Club of Kenya 1-0 in Cairo, Egypt.
Five Nigerian hockey clubs traveled to Egypt for the tournament two weeks ago: Kada Stars, Niger Flickers, and three female teams—Plateau Queens, Kaduna Queens, and Delta Queens.
Kada Queens put up an impressive performance throughout the competition but narrowly missed a spot in the final. However, they bounced back to claim third place, edging out Mombasa Hockey Club with a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
This achievement highlights the growing strength of Nigerian hockey on the continental stage.
