Nigeria Cycling Has Improved Tremendously – CAC

President of track commission Confederation of Africa Cycling CAC William Newman has said that Nigeria is growing tremendously.

Mr Newman was sent to Nigeria on an assessment trip to ascertain Nigeria’s preparedness for the forthcoming Africa Championship in Nigeria and the level of growth and development of cycling in the country.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday Abuja Newman said the world is proud of cycling growth in the continent and the world.

“Nigeria over the last years has improved tremendously what remain is dedicated government effort to project the game the more

” Nigerians are aware of cycling as a result of the positive impact churned out by the federation.”

He however, appealed to Nigeria Government, sponsors and corporate bodies to come to the support for the game to put Nigeria into more part of success in the world.

In his addressed the CFN President Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN), Giandomenico Massari, said that federation hard work has put Nigeria on the world map as Nigeria is ranked 6th or 7th in the world

He said: “we have started less than three years ago and today we are there and imagine if this Velodrome have been utilized when it was built we would have recorded more success in cycling

“We have a lot of potential in the female category and the male are coming up. And we have a very good perspective in front of us, we want to consolidate and even make our standard higher to show to everybody in Nigeria is somewhere.”
