Niger CAN Condemns Killing Of Catholic Priest Kaffin-Koro

In the early hours of today(Sunday) the people of Kaffin-Koro in Niger state were thrown into sadness due to gruesome killing of Rev Fr Isaac Achi, the parish priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kaffin-Koro in Paikoro local government area of Niger state .

In a letter made available to AljazirahNigeria through the media aide to the state CAN Chairman, Mr Daniel Atori, today strongly condemn the killings of innocent citizens.

 The state CAN Chairman,   Most Rev Bulus Dauwa Yohanna while condemning the dastardly act, condoled with the Catholic Diocese of Minna, parishioners and  the entire Christendom as well as the immediate family of  the slain priest. He prays for the repose of Rev. Fr Achi soul and that of all the departed faithful.

 The chairman called for immediate investigations into the attacks, and urged the government, the police and other security agencies to double efforts in tackling banditry and insecurity in the state, adding that the culprits must be brought to book.

 The sole responsibility of the government is to protect lives and properties of the people, “Enough of the attacks and wanton lost of lives of innocent Nigerians”, the chairman decried.

 AljazirahNigeria gathered that in  the early hours of today (Sunday) bandits storm the community, shooting sporadically, set ablaze the Catholic Parish house, killed the parish priest and injured his assistant.

 Until his death, he was the CAN Coordinator of Paikoro LGA, the Dean and Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church Kaffin-Koro in  Minna Diocese.
