Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, Rain Healthcare Initiative and Good Leadership, has conducted a polio sensitisation campaign in Yabo and Tambuwal Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.
At Yabo, the team was received by the Council Chairman, Abubakar Bazar, who pledged total support for the polio campaign.
Director of Health, Auwal Umar also assured of full cooperation for the exercise.
Locals were educated on the importance of polio immunisation, and the need to make their children and wards under five years participate in the forthcoming vaccination programme.
Receiving the team at Tambuwal, Vice Chairman of the local government, Muhammad Damma assured the organisation of the council’s support.
According to the Executive Director of Rain Healthcare Initiative and Good Leadership, Usman Hamza, the initiative is part of a broader effort to gather baseline information on health promotion and polio immunisation in the region.
