Th National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the United Nations have said that they would continue to support Vulnerable individuals in Nigeria impacted by disaster.
The Stakeholders made the commitment at the launch of the 2025 Nigeria Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) in Abuja on Thursday, by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA).

According to a statement, the DG of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar underscored the significance of the initiative to contribute towards addressing the humanitarian challenges faced by vulnerable communities in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States.
She reiterated NEMA’s commitment to collaborate with OCHA and other partners to support vulnerable individuals and foster resilience within communities.
The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment under the Renewed Hope Agenda to address the needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and empower them towards economic independence.
Mr. Mohammed Malick Fall, the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, on his part, expressed gratitude to donor agencies and partners for their support in delivering aid to vulnerable populations in the North East.
Mr. Trond Jensen, the Head of OCHA Nigeria, provided details on the projections outlined in the HNRP for the year.
