NECO Releases 2021  SSCE Results, Blacklists 20 Supervisors

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2021 Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) internal examination.

The Registrar of NECO, Prof Dantani Wushishi, who announced the results on Friday, October 29 at the headquarters in Minna, Niger State said 20 supervisors who were found wanting for various offences ranging from poor supervision have been blacklisted.

He added that some of the offences included aiding and abetting, connivance with candidates to write answers on the chalkboard, compromise and extortion.

Five schools in Bayelsa, Bauchi, Kaduna and Kastina, according to the Registrar have been recommended to be de-recognised due to their involvement in mass cheating and whole school cases.

He announced that 878,925 candidates representing 71.64 per cent made five credits including Mathematics and English Language while 1,226,796 representing 91.04 per cent of the candidates made five credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.

He stated that out of the 1,233,631 candidates that registered for the Examinations only 1,209,992 sat for the examination.

“The number of candidates involved in various forms of malpractice in 2021 is 20,003 representing 1.63 per cent whereas 33,470 representing 2.61 per cent cases recorded in 2020. The malpractice incidence in 2021 dropped compared to the figure of 2020,” he said.

The Registrar said that the students can check their results on the website of the examination body.
