NDE, Firm Train 110  Youths On Vocational Skills

National Directorate of Employment, NDE, in collaboration with  Bani Talib Trust, a family group, has successfully trained 110 youths in Katsina State on various vocational skills.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Katsina, Chairman of Bani Talib Trust, Alhaji Mahey Rasheed gave a brief history of the firm’s initiative and commitment to community development.

Rasheed said the first phase of the programme benefited 60 youths, while the second phase, benefited 50 youths totaling 110 youths.

He said the youths were trained on tailoring, mobile phone repair, welding, electrical works, computer literacy,  POP and poultry.

He said the training was aimed at tackling unemployment in the state.

“As part of our community’s outreach, Bani Talib Trust procured fabrics and traditional attires, which the trainees in tailoring used to sew clothes that was distributed to  orphans,” Rasheed said.

The NDE Zonal Director in Katsina,   Malam Danjuma Shehu, who represented the director-general, said the programme was designed to reduce unemployment in the state.

He urged other organisations to emulate the initiative.

Also speaking, the Director-General, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Hajiya Binta Dangani conveyed the appreciation of the Katsina State government.

She commended the collaborative efforts of  NDE and the organisation, while reaffirming Governor Dikko Radda’s commitment to empower women and youths.

She enjoined the beneficiaries to leverage their newly acquired skills for self-sufficiency and contribute to the economic growth of their communities.

The initiator of the training programme and a member of  Bani Talib Family, Dr Suhayb Sanusi-Rafindadi commended the governor for his leadership and commitment to youth and women empowerment.
