Nasarawa Varsity,  Embassy Of Poland Unveil Book On Security Education

In their efforts to elevate the standard of knowledge within the continent of Africa and beyond, the management of Nasarawa State University, Keffi under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammad has succeeded in unveiling her three classicist book; first of it kind in the whole world.

In his welcome address cum historical background of the project which was  held at the Sheraton Hatel, Ladi Kwali Hall, Abuja on Friday, Professor Muhammad said, Nasarawa State University, Keffi was the first university in Africa to acquired the copyright English version text of Professor Brunon Holyst; a polish scientist  for reproduction and circulation within and outside the continent of Africa.

” We are in Africa but these English versions are the first in the whole world of these three classics “Criminology” Suicodology” and “Fundamentals of Criminal Psychology”. In fact, we will be sending some back to Poland for those who will be interested in using the English version” the Vice Chancellor stated.

Muhammad who was highly delighted with the entire procedure during the occasion said, in Nigeria, Nasarawa State University, Keffi has continued to render support to security governance through numerous research collaborations with security institutions, and the running of security related courses in NSUK for Governance and Development Studies as well as in their Center for Cyberspace Studies.

He said, “I will take advantage of this opportunity to eulogize the author of these classics, Professor Brunon Holyst, who is a nonagenarian being ninety three years old as we speak. His choice to bequeath to humanity his wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas of criminal law and psychology is deeply appreciated “.

In her goodwill message, the Poland Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Joanna Tarnawska said, Nasarawa State and particularly the Nasarawa State University, Keffi has been friends of Polish Embassy and Poland Government in recent years describing the collaborations of the parties as fruitful and beneficial.

“Today, we need to celebrate the work of an incredible scientists, a prolific writer and a criminologist, although what he writes is not interested to the tend hearted, but it is very much important in today’s world and has a lot to do with security in Nigeria and elsewhere. 

“I will like to say that today’s celebration is of academics in general and the achievements of scientists in Nigeria and in Poland, and also signifies their contributions to all works of lives and I will like the politicians also to recognise that science is very important and collaboration with scientists can be of benefit to the citizens in terms of security wellbeing, health and many more care”, she stated.

She however, thanked Dr. K,tso Nghargbu who is the university’s director of Linkages for his outstanding gestures that yielded the said partnership between  Nasarawa State University, Keffi and Poland.

In his address  the special guest of honour the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, represented by his deputy, Chief Edward Onaja, said, “I commend the author, editors and all partners who contributed to marking this highly impactful selling books available to the world especially the government of Poland. We will do our best to support you in getting them widely distributed because we believe they are both timely and much needed at this time”.
