Nasarawa Commissioner Awards Construction Of Umaisha-Toto Road

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transportation, Engineer Idris Mohammed Idris, has described the Nasarawa State Governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule’s agenda of transforming all the nooks and crannies of the state infrastructurally as second to none.

The commissioner  made the assertion while officially handing over the muti-million Naira Umaisha-Toto Road Construction Project to ELA Constructions Company Limited in Umaisha Development Area of the state on Wednesday,

He stated that the state government had already handed over three of such projects to other Constructions Companies within the three senatorial districts of the state geared towards expanding road networks, urging the construction company to strickly abide by the contract agreements with special emphasis on the timeframe  and to also construct a solid and formidable road.

“Having satisfied all the requirements particularly in the aspects of biddings, evaluations and selections as God will have it, you, ELA Constructions Company Limited have been awarded with this particular job. 

“So, we hope your nature on delivering quality roads within the country which we are aware you will not fail us. Please, do not let us down and do not do anything shabby so, that together we can deliver in line with our dear governor’s agenda of transforming all the nooks and crannies of the state which is second to none”, Engr. Idris stated.

The speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Balarebe, who is from Umaisha and also witnessed the handing over ceremony said, “Our first class Paramount ruler HRH Usman Abdullahi ( Ohimege Opanda)  presented the need for this road to be reconstructed before the governor of the state as one of his major problems and the governor directed me to ensure that we provided it in 2022 budget and that has been done.

“The state executive council looked at it and approved this job. I want to use this opportunity to appreciate our governor Engr. A. A Sule for his commitments in transforming the state and to  also thank the commissioner of works, housing and transportation Engr. Idris whom I gave him a sleepless nights over this Job to ensure all the processes are complete”

On his part First class Paramount ruler of the Area HRH. Usman Abdullahi the Ohimege Opanda said,” Today, I am glad and happy because our dear governor of the state Engineer Abdullahi Sule has awarded the Construction of Umaisha-Toto Road. I am short of words to express my gratitude to him. 

“This is a great blessing to this area and we really thank the governor. We also want to thank our son the speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and the commissioner of works because without their help we don’t think this will take place. It is our prayers that the work will start in earnest and it will be done in  a good and standard status”.

He said the entire Community will accord  the contractors  maximum cooperation in all ramifications to enable them do their job with ease with special emphasis to security protections.

The Project Manager of the Construction Company, Mr. Wasin Khabbazi Stated that, “We have worked in Dangi, Jos, Oturkpo, and Lokoja in Plateau, Benue and Kogi states respectively and it will interest you to know that we have been working in Nigeria for the last two decades without any problem as such we will try and meet up with all the contract agreements as regards this job in order to give the Nasarawa State Government a solid and quality work by God’s grace”.
