Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has  foiled an attack by suspected Boko Haram members during the Eid festivities and  destroyed terrorists hideouts in Borno State.

A statement made available by the NAF’s spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, in Maiduguri, said the airstrikes were conducted between June 5 and 6.

The statement added that NAF, under Operation HADIN KAI, decimated key Boko Haram hideouts at Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia in  Southern Tumbuns.

According to him,  aircrafts acting on credible intelligence targeted terrorist structures reportedly used for storage and coordination, “delivering direct hits and crippling planned attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations.”

Commodore Ejodame pointed out that the pre-emptive action underscored the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to safeguard civilian lives and support national security objectives.

The statement also added that “battle damage assessments confirmed the neutralisation of several terrorists and the destruction of key logistics structures.”
