Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo said his administration will prioritise training and retraining of public servants in the state for better, efficient and transparent service delivery.
The Governor made this known during the swearing in ceremony of three new permanent secretaries at the Government House, Benin City.
Governor Okpebholo stressed his administration’s commitment to building a team of civil servants that will be effective and transparent in their official duties stating, that “Edo people voted for us to provide good governance and public service delivery will be central to that agenda.
“Gone are the days when anything goes in public service. My administration will not tolerate indolence and lackadaisical approach to work. To this end, we are building a team of regular civil servants that will be effective and transparent in their call to duty”.
He, therefore, admonished the new Permanent Secretary to give their best in making a huge difference in the coming year.
Responding on behalf of the newly- sworn in Permanent Secretaries, Mrs. Stella Eshieshie thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed on them and the opportunity given to them to serve in the capacity.
She promised that they would bring their experience and expertise to bear in implementing the administration’s policies.
