Mourinho sanctions players’ contract renewal

Manchester United Jose Mourinho have sanctioned the club to extend six players contract by one-year over the course of the season.

Red Devil are said to be keen to avoid the situation at Emirate, where Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade Chamberlian are into the last year of their current contract and look set to leave on free transfers at the end of the season, but Arsenal decides to cash on Chamberlian.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has directed the club hierarchy to trigger contract extensions for Juan Mata, Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, Sam Johnstone, Ander Herrera and Ashley Young in the coming months.

All six players are into the final year of their existing deals but crucially, all of them have a one-year option which United intend to exercise.

Manchester United skipper Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini, and newly resigned Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all on the last leg of their deal without an additional option but Mourinho is said to be open to the idea of them remaining at Old Trafford.
