The leadership of Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta, MOSIEND, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari, over the appointment of retired Major General Barry Tariye Ndiomu as Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

Vice President of MOSIEND, Comrade Thompson Robert Fuoye, in a statement issued to journalists on Friday, described the appointment as timely and one aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the Niger Delta and its environs.

Fuoye, also applauded the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Mohammed Monguno, for his foresight in carefully selecting a man of credible character and experience in security, legal and economic matters such as Ndiomu to manage the affairs of the Presidential Amnesty Programme which requires people of highly distinguished feats.

He maintained that, with Ndiomu as head of the PAP, no doubt, the Niger Delta will begin to experience a new dawn of human capacity development for ex-agitators, who will in turn touch the lives of those around them.

He noted that Ndiomu is very close to the grassroots and very knowledgeable about the issues surrounding the agitations by the ex-freedom fighters, calling for cooperation from all and sundry.

He urged all related stakeholders of the Niger Delta region and the Presidential Amnesty Programme to give him all the support needed to effectively discharge his duties, saying that the new Amnesty boss should not be distracted with needless media wars as has been the new order of the day in recent times in the PAP.

He assured the Presidency that MOSIEND will give the new Interim Administrator, Tariye Ndiomu, the needed support to succeed. He also wished him well in his new assignment.
