Matawalle Officially Joins APC, Calls For Reconciliation

Governor Muhammad Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

Matawalle was received into the Party by its National Caretaker Committee Chairman, the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni in company of 10 APC Governors, the SGF, two Ministers and a host of Party dignitaries .

Buni said as from today, “Governor Bello Mohammed is the official leader of the Party in the state just as he used the power bestowed on him by the constitution to dissolve the State Executive of Party.

“From now on, Governor Matawalle is the leader of our great Party in Zamfara State. You will await further arrangements for new party structure from him” the Caretaker Committee Chairman said.

While Receiving the Party’s flag, Governor Matawalle accepted the leadership of the Party just as he declared his membership of the Party. He called on all party members to rally around him to build a new APC of the people’s desire in the state.

Along with him to decaped are all serving senators, 6 of the 7 reps members and all members of the State Assembly. 

Speaking at the occasion, former Governor of the state, Abdulazeez Yari, declared his support and commitment to work for the success of the party just as he prayed for God to prevent any evil from crossing their path in the party again.

The Governors in attendance include those of Kano, kaduna, Kebbi, Borno, Kogi, Niger, Yobe, Ogun, Katsina, Jigawa and Plateau. Also in attendance was the first civilian governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmad Sani.
