Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle has donated 15 trailer loads of fertiliser to members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State.
The minister’s donation was handed to the secretary of the party by the State Chairman, Tukur Danfulani.
In a statement released yesterday, Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Idris said the commodity was for distribution to APC members across the state as part of President Bola Tinubu’s agricultural transformation programme.
Danfulani said the minister’s gesture to the APC would boost agricultural output, economic growth and development.
He explained that part of the fertiliser was allocated to the minister by the federal government, adding that he purchased additional trucks to complement the federal government’s agricultural initiatives to ensure a bumper harvest.
He said, “All the 15 trailers will be distributed free of charge to identified beneficiaries with the sole aim of supporting them”.
Danfulani also thanked Matawalle, who doubles as the leader of the party in the state, for the gesture.
He recalled that during his time as governor, he kept very close ties with all members of the party, which helped in sustaining unity among leaders and supporters of the APC.
The chairman assured that the fertiliser would reach members of the party in the 147 wards of the 14 local government areas.
He implored other leaders to imbibe such goodwill to the people of the state.
Beneficiaries will include State Working Committee members and executives, local government executives and some ward executives, party elders, youths, and other critical stakeholders across the state.
The chairman commended the party member for their patience and support.
Danfulani added that, “This gesture is making the party more popular and acceptable among the people of the state”.
