Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Christopher Maikalangu has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s approval for the establishment of a federal polytechnic in Gwarinpa, a popular area under AMAC in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
In a press statement yesterday signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Kingsley Madaki, Maikalangu thanked the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the role he played in making the dream of FCT residents a reality.
Maikalangu said the approval for the establishment of the polytechnic would not have seen the light of the day without the relentless efforts of Wike, whom he referred to as Mr Projects and his mentor.
The AMAC chairman informed that the establishment of the polytechnic in Gwarinpa was a dream come true and will add to the progress of FCT residents, inline with the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of the President Tinubu-led administration.
He said the establishment of the polytechnic would greatly add to the joy of the indigenous people of the FCT, whom he said had been enjoying the dividends of democracy since the assumption of office of President Tinubu and Wike.
“I am indeed very happy with the magnanimity of President Tinubu. Since he assumed office, indigenous people of the FCT have been enjoying the dividends of democracy in different forms, something hitherto unheralded about 33 years ago.
“In fact, the latest approval by the president for the establishment of a federal polytechnic in Gwarinpa, an area known for education, is a great step and a sign of the dividends of democracy in action and in demonstration of FCT’s inclusivity in democracy,” the chairman said.
