…Lauds Gov. Alia’s sports development

Head of Media, Lobi Stars Football Club, of Makurdi,Uja Emmanuel, has called on media practitioners, particularly members of the Correspondents Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists ,NUJ, Benue State Council, to support the new Board and management of Lobi Stars FC Makurdi.
Uja, who is a member of the Correspondents Chapel in a press statement made available to newsmen yesterday, commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for his huge investment in sports infrastructure and for reappointing him again on the board.
He lauded the governor’s efforts in upgrading the Aper Aku stadium to international standards and renovate the entire Aper Aku sports complex, including handball, volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, as well as the swimming pool.
Uja also disclosed that Governor Alia has directed the setting up of a Benue Female Football Club and the recruitment of more coaches to discover and nurture talents at the local government levels.
He added that the governor plans to create employment opportunities for over 30,000 youths through sports development.
