Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun has commended residents for conducting themselves in an orderly manner during the local government elections held on Saturday.
The is just as he opposed the statement by opposition parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on the delay in the arrival of electoral materials.
Abiodun gave the commendation while answering questions from journalists shortly after casting his vote at Ita-Osanyin Unit 2, Ward 3 in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area.
The governor, who arrived the polling unit at 11:10am and voted at 11:22am, noted that the peaceful atmosphere indicated that the people arw ready to elect candidates of their choice.
“I am confident that when the elections are concluded and the people have expressed their choice through the ballot, everybody will be happy,” he said.
