The Hon. Member Muhammad Garba Bena, member representing Danko/Wasagu East constituency has raised a motion before the flour of the house for the need of re- construction and completion of Dan umaru Bena – Mairaira road and also to construct Bena, Wasagu township roads in Danko/Wasagu local government.
Hon. Muhammad Garba Bena lament that experience has shown that any area without good roads network are far behind in terms of physics development, impact, no society can develop without good roads network.
Alhaji Muhammad Garba Bena said, during the administration of His Excellency Alh. Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakin gari the road by name”Dan umaru-Bena-Mairairai road” linking about twelve (12) villages was awarded to an indigenous company (ZBCC Nig. Ltd) and reasonable percentage of the work was done but not completed before the ended of his tenure.
He said more than eight years ago since then the work was abandoned as a result of abandanment, even the portion that was fairly constructed is now in the state of dilapidation.
Member representing Danko Wasagu East constituency drowned the attention of the honourable house by saying that, “the main reason behind presenting the motion today is to seek your co – operation and support to call on the state government to include the road in the recent move by His Excellency the governor of Kebbi state Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu to provide good roads network across the state. The ongoing renovation and upgrading of Birnin Kebbi township roads as well as the move to reward Koko – Mahuta – Dabai road are good pointers to this laudable move by the governor” he added.
Bena explained that the history is always on the side of those who take decision in the overall interest of the society in all circumstances, saying that the governance is continuous process and it is always wise to complete all laudable projects initiated by successive administration to avoid wastage.
In relation to the Bena Wasagu township roads, Hon. Muhammad Bena disclosed that the project was initiated by last administration of His Excellency Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in which compensation were paid and affected structures were removed to pave Way for commencement of the work, however nothing was done thereafter.
Garba Bena crave the indulgence to pray for the house to resolve that Dan umaru-Bena-Mairairai road be included in the 2024 budget estimates and that of Dan umaru-Bena-Mairairai road be re- constructed by the state government.
Bena Wasagu township roads be included in the 2024 budget estimates as well as that Bena and Wasagu township roads be constructed by the state government.
