Date:

Renowned sports administrator and grassroots development advocate, Kingsley James Awodi, has been honored with the prestigious Sportsville Award at a grand ceremony held at Eko city , Lagos.

Awodi, the President of Kings FC, was accompanied by friends and loved ones who share in his vision for sports development. Expressing his joy and gratitude, he dedicated the award to God Almighty, his family, his father, and his mentor, Dr. Paul Enenche.

“I feel elated to have won this award. It shows that people recognize my hard work, and this will spur me to do more,” Awodi remarked. “A few years ago, I reflagged the MKO Abiola National Stadium under the ‘Adopt-A-Pitch Project.’ This award is a testament to the importance of grassroots development and giving back to society.”

As the founder of Kings Academy in Abuja, he has played a pivotal role in nurturing young talents and providing opportunities for aspiring footballers across Nigeria.

Awodi has also been an influential figure in Nigerian football administration, having been part of official government delegations under former Minister of Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare. His involvement saw him participate in sports pilgrimages to the Maldives and travel with the Nigerian delegation to Kigali, Rwanda, to support the national team.
