The Nigeria Association of  Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kebbi State Chapter, has joined Muslim faithful to celebrate Eid-El-Adha.

In a goodwill message by NAWOJ Chairperson, Mrs. Laiatu Augustine Bamaiyi, Eid El-Kabir celebration for the year 2021, many expect good wishes from their friends, family members and loved ones, hence, the need for  journalists to take part in wishing everyone the best.

Bamaiyi called on all to celebrate the Sallah with consciousness and in conformity with laid down rules, regulations and protocols to prevent spread of the dreaded COVID-19 virus.

“Social distancing, avoiding crowds, regular washing of hands, using facemasks and minimizing movement should be maintained by all to reduce the risk of contracting the killer virus”, NAWOJ said.

She also urged the state populace to be security conscious and be very vigilant to complement governments and security agencies in their efforts to contain the challenges in the state by reporting any suspicious act or movement to the nearest security outfit.

“NAWOJ Kebbi recognized the state government efforts in putting smiles to faces of the state populace which deserves commendations, we therefore say a very big thank you.

“As this year’s Sallah is going to be celebrated in low key due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which also affects the economy of our country and that of individuals, the wealthy amongst the communities in the state are enjoined to support and assist the needy for them to celebrate the Sallah joyfully.
