Kebbi CP Organises Maiden Qur’anic Recitation Competition in Kebbi

Commissioner of police, Kebbi state command, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora on Tuesday organized the first ever Qur’anic recitation competition at the state command Birnin Kebbi.

Earlier, the chairman of mosque committee and coordinator of the recitation competition, CSP Aminu Sadiq said that participants were drawn from different divisional headquarters under the command who are about 18 of them and the recitation competition will run for 3 days in order to get the winner.

He thanked the CP for sponsoring and organizing such important event and asked Allah to reward him with paradise of high esteem, saying that, “we hope this would be sustained even after the present commissioner of police because it’s a good thing.”

Emir of Gwandu represented by Walin Gwandu, Alhaji Muktar Abdullahi officially flagged off the recitation competition with a call for fear of Allah in whatever one is doing describing the holy book as cure for every problem in the world. He thanked the CP for his wise thought.

Speaking at the end of the opening ceremony, CP Ahmed Magaji disclosed that he organized the recitation of the Qur’an to bring officers and men of the command closer to God and to guide them in the discharge of their primary responsibilities as security men, “with this we believe our officers will instill the fear of Allah while discharging their professional duties as law enforcement agents, everything with fear of Allah will succeed and is clean he said”

ASP Umar Abdulsalam was the first to recite the holy book as the first participant from Kebbi state command. He was closely followed by constable Maslana Abdullahi from Bunza as a symbol to kick off the competition which will span for 3 days.
