Karate Federation Holds Demonstration Tourney To Celebrate Goodluck Birthday

Karate Federation of Nigeria has staged a one day demonstration tournament to celebrate the former president Goodluck Jonathan who has been helping the game of karate in the country for years.

The championship that held at the MKO Abiola stadium on Saturday in Abuja have all stakeholders participated. 


While speaking, the Karate Federation President Silas Agara said that Goodluck Jonathan demonstration tournament is a way of appreciating the former president who has contributed immensely, to the growth of the game in the country.

According to him, “we are here this morning to celebrate our promoter, the Patron, the former President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan  who has been supporting Karate Federation for years.

“We felt that only thing we can do for him is to organise a tourney in his name to celebrate his birthday and as you can see athletes, coaches they were all happy. We pray that God Almighty prosper him more and grant him a good health”

He further said that the federation is working hard to make Nigerians proud during the forthcoming Africa’s version of the Olympic in Cairo, Egypt, come November 30th this year.

While talking about the importance of demonstration tourney to athletes, the Federation Secretary Maikano Alhaji Adamu said that the event will prepare karate athletes for the Commonwealth and Olympics games ahead as well as creating more awareness about the game.

“Essence of the demonstration is to motivate athletes ahead of African game in Egypt, the players are already in camp and I know this demonstration will prepare them and create more awareness about karate because many people don’t know the game.”, he said.
