Kano State Commissioner for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Comrade Nura Iro Ma’aji has raised concerns over the poor execution of Kwankwasiyya Gida-Gida Blocks of four Classrooms in Sumaila and Garko Local Government Areas of the state.
Ma’aji expressed disappointment on what he witnessed on ground during inspection of school projects in primary schools he visited on Saturday in his hometown of Sumaila and Garko.
He stated that the contractors, despite being given project specifications and designs, failed to act in accordance with instructions.
According to the Commissioner, only in Albasu Local Government did he see an impressive project execution with the contractor and supervisor found on site.
The contractors that could not adhere to instructions were asked to stop work and report to the Ministry of Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation on Monday, January 13.
“I have to commend the contractor in the Albasu school project for doing a very good work.
“Those found with failures must take correction; they have everything in their contract papers and we must abide and keep to those specifications”, he said.
The Commissioner and his team visited Zango Primary School, Garko, GSS Albasu in Albasu Local Government, Sumaila Gabas Primary School, Sumaila and a five-kilometre road in Sumaila.
