Kaduna: Shari’a Court Orders Motorcyclist To Pay Child Support

Date:

Shari’a Court in Rigasa, Kaduna State, has ordered a commercial motorcyclist, Abdulrahman Muhammad, to pay a monthly feeding allowance of N25,000 for his five children.

The judge, Malam Muhammad Adamu also granted the custody of the children to Muhammad’s estranged wife, Zaituna Abdulkadir.

Earlier, the petitioner, Zaituna, in her application, urged the court to grant her custody of her children, and also compel her ex-husband to pay the sum of N75,000 monthly feeding allowance for their children.

“The children have been with me for over a year and he does not discharge his responsibility as a father.

“I want him to take care of our children’s school fees, health and clothing,” she pleaded with the court.

However, the court compelled Muhammad to be paying monthly feeding allowance of N25,000 after he could only volunteer N20,000.
