As we commemorate June 12, a day etched in the annals of Nigeria’s history as a symbol of democracy, the Oduduwa Frontiers stands proud in joining fellow Nigerians in celebrating the strides our nation has made under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
They also praised the administration’s infrastructure drive, which includes large-scale investments in roads, railways, and power projects.
In a statement issued by its National President, Kolawale Adediji Kazeem, the group described Democracy Day as not only a remembrance of Nigeria’s democratic rebirth but also a moment to reflect on the country’s progress in economic reform, security enhancement, and national stability over the past two years.
Kazeem noted that despite numerous challenges, the Tinubu administration has shown firm resolve in implementing bold economic reforms to reposition the nation for sustainable growth.
He said: “This day not only marks the significance of our democratic journey but also offers an opportunity to reflect on the transformative progress achieved in the past two years in economic reform, security advancement, and overall stability.
“In the face of numerous challenges, the Tinubu administration has embarked on a series of ambitious economic reforms aimed at revitalizing our economy and fostering sustainable growth. The introduction of the economic diversification strategy has been pivotal in reducing Nigeria’s over-reliance on oil revenues.
“The administration’s commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity, promoting technology-driven enterprises, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has led to increased job creation and economic resilience.
“Furthermore, the government’s focus on infrastructural development, particularly in transportation and energy, has laid a solid foundation for future growth. The ongoing construction of new roads, railways, and power plants is not merely an investment in infrastructure but a commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian has access to the resources necessary for a dignified life.
“The partnership between the public and private sectors has been instrumental in attracting foreign investment, showcasing Nigeria as an emerging market with vast potential.
“The safety and security of our citizens remain paramount in the pursuit of national development. Recognizing the multifaceted nature of security challenges, President Tinubu’s administration has taken a holistic approach to enhancing national security.
“Through strategic partnerships with local communities, the establishment of new security frameworks, and the reinforcement of our military capabilities, the government has made significant strides in combating insurgency, banditry, and other forms of violence.”
The Oduduwa Frontiers emphasized that stability is the cornerstone of democratic progress, and credited President Tinubu’s leadership for promoting inclusivity, fostering dialogue, and strengthening democratic institutions.
He added, “The introduction of community policing initiatives has empowered local populations to take an active role in ensuring their safety, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility. As a result, we have witnessed a tangible reduction in crime rates in several regions, allowing citizens to go about their daily lives with greater confidence and peace of mind. The administration’s unwavering commitment to securing our borders has also played a crucial role in curbing illegal activities and enhancing national stability.
“Stability is the bedrock of any thriving democracy, and under President Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has experienced a renewed sense of political and social stability. The administration’s commitment to inclusivity and dialogue has fostered an environment where diverse voices are heard and respected. This has been particularly evident in the management of regional grievances and the promotion of national unity.
“Moreover, the government’s efforts to strengthen democratic institutions have reinforced the rule of law and accountability. The ongoing judicial reforms aim to ensure that justice is accessible to all, thereby enhancing public trust in our legal system. As we celebrate this Democracy Day, it is imperative to recognize that the progress we have made is a collective effort, requiring the participation of every Nigerian to uphold the values of democracy.
“As we reflect on the achievements of the past two years, the Oduduwa Frontiers calls upon all Nigerians to remain steadfast in our commitment to democracy, progress, and unity. The journey towards a prosperous Nigeria is ongoing, and it is our collective responsibility to support the administration in its efforts to build a nation where every citizen can thrive.
“On this June 12, let us celebrate not only our democratic heritage but also the promise of a brighter future under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Together, we can continue to forge a path towards a Nigeria that is economically robust, secure, and stable, a nation that truly embodies the aspirations of its people.”
