Jigawa State Government has said it would strengthen its existing cordial working relationship with the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered).

The State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri made this known when he received the North West Zonal Chairman, Professor Abubukar S Garba in his office.

Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri said Jigawa State Government is aware of the full capacity of the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered) particularly to the workers that have registered with the Institute in terms of their skills.

He stated that Jigawa State Government attached great importance to the training and retraining of its workforce, adding that it will not relent in its effort towards making the State Civil Servants more active through regular training and retraining thus improving their capacity and productivity.

Earlier, the North West Zonal Chairman, Professor Abubukar S Garba told the Head of the Civil Service that they were in his office to brief him about the activities of the Institute.

He said the Institute was established in 1961 and attained charter status through Act 14 of June 19, 2003 which empowers it to control and regulate the practice of the management profession in all its ramifications in Nigeria.

The zonal Chairman stated that the Institute depends on the quality and quantity of its membership who are in various managerial and executive positions in both public and private sectors of the economy.

He explained that the Institute equally has management training partnerships with Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and corporate bodies across all sectors delivering well thought out customised training and human capital development programmes.

Professor Abubakar requested the Jigawa State Government to partner with the Fund to train Jigawa State Manpower.
