ISWAP Abduct Library Director, 6 Others In Borno

Some suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists have kidnapped a libary director and six others in Borno state.

Borno State Director of Library, Abubakar Ahmed Askira, confirmed to AljazirahNigeria.

Also the leader of the Fulani Community in Askira, Bello Ndottiwa was also abducted Sunday near Buratai town, while travelling to Askira along Damaturu/Biu road.

The incident was confirmed yesterday, in a video made available to AljazirahNigeria.

“As a Security Consultant with extensive experience in this area, I believe it is time for the military to prioritize the protection of our highways”, an ananymous security consultant said.

He added that this kidnapping of motorists and commuters is intolerable, and it is the latest in a long line of abductions.

He disclosed that the terrorists’ purpose is to raise money for their activities by demanding ransom from the families of abductees.

The consultant insisted that the families should not pay any ransom to the kidnappers, and warned that the people should stay away from roads; until the Army clear them for motorists.

AljazirahNigeria also learnt that the other people were abducted yesterday including an NYSC member, Usman Musa Abubakar, a banker, Mohammed Askira, a member of the Road Safety Corps, Yusuf Nauru, Zakariya Kime, a staff of the UNICEF and a contract staff of the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA), Imrana Mohammed Askira.
