Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has shared the rationale for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly against Russia.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Luzhniki Stadium on Friday, with Nigeria set to take on a strong Russian side. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday in Moscow, Chelle outlined the objectives behind the fixture.
“Although it’s a friendly, we have serious goals: first, we want to win; second, we aim to use this match to prepare for upcoming tournaments and qualifying games,” said the Super Eagles boss.
Chelle acknowledged the quality of the Russian team, describing them as formidable opponents
“The Russian national team is very strong, with many high-caliber players. They play an intense, aggressive, and technically sound game,” he noted.
“Right now, I’m focused on developing a solid plan for the match.”
Under Chelle’s guidance, the three-time African champions have enjoyed a strong start, recording three wins and one draw from four matches
