…I’ll Bring Back Economic Glory Of Ekiti – Afolabi

Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, Oluwatoyin Afolabi has promised to bring back the economic glory of the state, if elected.

The aspirant, who decried the state of affairs of the State, said he would transform Ekiti for the better and make it competitive with economically viable states, if voted into power.


According to him, there are so many industries in Lagos, Port Harcourt and other states in the country but the reverse is the case in Ekiti.

“Having been an international man, who has seen and owns business in the U.S, I know how to create jobs. My goal is to come back to Ekiti State to create jobs, to help our young ones.

“There are lots of youths who are riding ‘Okada’ here and there, they don’t have any viable job to sustain their lives and that is part of the peculiar reasons I have decided to run to be the governor of Ekiti State this year by the grace of God”.

“My goal is to be able to help a fellow Ekiti indigene to attain their potential. They have so many potentials in them we have the intellectuals there, We don’t have people who can come there and established factories and industries who can create businesses opportunities all because some of the people that are at the hems of affairs are not giving them conducive environment to be able to do that”.

Afolabi noted that, during his tenure as governor of Ekiti State, his priority will be for job creation for the  youths, which according to him It will be for economic growth 9c the state.

“Our health care system in Ekiti State is nothing to write home about. As a person who has established health care institutions in the USA, I am bringing my wisdom, talent and ability to the people of Ekiti to make sure that their health care is second to none in Nigeria”.

When asked on how to tackle issues as a newcomer to the game of politics in Nigeria he said, his people will listen to him.

“When I carry my messages across to them; they know that most of the people that are coming are liars, they know they have said more than that before. There is an opportunity of not believing in what they are saying but believing in a fresh-comer.

“They have the trust in me from the entire internal poll that I have taken, they have believed that we need someone who is fresh to the system not somebody who has been there and lying to them after taking one or two things from the government.

“My position is not going to be that way, I will be very sincere, there will be accountability in my system, transparency, and honesty to prevail all the time. Ekiti people will trust me, he said.
