The Ohaneze President in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja , Bar Augustine Amaechi has called on the Igbo’s in the North and the entire Igbo nation to support the Sen. Azuta Mbata led Ohaneze’s executives .
Bar Amaechi noted that the emergence of Sen Azuta Mbata an Ikwere born politician was a sign of unity and oneness among the Igbo race wherever they may domicile.
He averred that the emergence of Sen Mbata from the Igbo axis of Rivers State shows that any Igbo son regardless of his state of origin can lead the entire Igbo’s.
Speaking to journalists at the weekend, Bar Amaechi said he was optimistic that the Sen Mbata led Ohaneze will transform the fortunes of the socio- cultural organization ,adding that all he needed was support to deliver.
He charged the Sen Mbata led Ohaneze new executives to urge affiliate unions in the 19 Northern States and Abuja to belong to the Ohaneze- Ndi-Igbo, stressing that only one vote is allotted to the 19 Northern States and Abuja by the parent body.
On the continued detention of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kalu , the Ohaneze leader criticized the federal government for not releasing Kanu despite the court ruling discharging and acquitting him from all charged preferred against him.
Bar Amaechi qeried why Sunday Igboho who called for the secession of the Yoruba Nation was allowed to be freely moving around the street while Nnamdi Kanu is still been incarcerated.
He said ” let me first congratulate distinguished senator Azuta Mbata for emerging the President General of Ohaneze- Ndi- Igbo World-wide .
Ohaneze Ndi Igbo on the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja congratulated him and we will support him. I call on the Igbo’s to support him and rally round him to succeed. His emergence is a message to all Igbo’s that they are recognised wherever they are . That we recognize our brothers and sisters in any parts of Nigeria, even in the North. It sends a message of unity and oneness of the Igbo nation. I believe he will perform and deliver,. The Igbo’s in the North will support him to succeed.
The Sen Mbata led Ohaneze executives should urge all affiliate unions in the 19 Northern States and Abuja to belong to the Ohaneze-Ndi-Igbo because they have only one vote as a body. This was made clear by the former President General, Nze Ozichukwu Chukwu at Enugu.
On Nnamdi Kanu, the position of the Igbo’s is that Sunday Igboho called for the secession of the Yoruba Nation but he was not arrested, so why the arrest and detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kalu when the court has discharged and acquitted him of every trump up charges preferred against him”
