Arrangements have been concluded to stage the maiden Captain’s Day Golf Tournament billed for March 29, 2025 at the prestigious Ibom Golf and Country Club, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
Disclosing this to Journalists in Uyo, the management of Ibom Air, the title sponsor, said the fiesta would attract both national and international golfers, especially from Africa to the showpiece.
Ibom Air’s Executive Director, ED, and Chief Operating Officer, COO, Mr. George Uriesi, said the partnership with the Ibom Golf and Country Club for the event became necessary to foster cooperation to promote the tourism potentials abound in the state.
He said: “Ibom Air is proud to announce its partnership as the title sponsor and official airline of the Captain’s Day Inaugural Golf Tournament, scheduled for March 29, 2025, at the prestigious Ibom Golf and Country Club, Uyo.
“This partnership aligns with one of Ibom Air’s strategic thrusts to promote tourism in the State through providing capacity for delegates and visitors to attend meetings, incentives, conferences, and Exhibitions, MICE.
“The tournament, set on one of West Africa’s most renowned and challenging 18-hole golf courses, promises to be a landmark sporting event.
“The amateur tournament will bring together golfers with handicaps ranging from 0 to 36, attracting participants from across Nigeria and Africa. As part of the experience.
“Activities will commence with an Ibibio-themed cocktail reception on March 28 at 7:00pm, providing players, business leaders, and guests a platform to network before the main tournament.
