House Committee Chairman On Sports, Back Super Eagles To Win 2025 AFCON Title

Date:

Joel Ajayi

Chairman House Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu, has thrown his weight behind the Super Eagles to win the 2025 African Nations Cup.

Honourable Amadu who represents Gusau/Tsafe Federal constituency in the House of Representatives draws the confidence following the quality of Nigeria players and their current performance in Europe.

Reacting to the 2025 AFCON Draw held on Monday night in Morocco, he said, “yes, the group looks simple but the players need to be careful such that they will not go into the pitch picturing that they have won a match even before kicking a ball. One of the most dangerous things in football is to be over confident and write off an opponents ahead of an encounter like the AFCON. Hon Kabiru stated this at NTA AM Sports on Tuesday morning”.

He continued, “No doubt we have the talents but they must be ready to play like wounded lions so as to qualify from the group and find their way to the final”.

“If they can play together as a team, ready to go for gold, and prepared mentally and physically, then the trophy is ours, Isha Allah”.

“On their part, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) must as a matter of urgency set up adequate preparations to create an easy path to victory.”

“The fact that we narrowly lost to the hosts in the last AFCON final and also having  our players winning back to back  the African Player Of the Year award, show that we have the quality to win the AFCON in Morocco”.

Nigeria is housed in Group C with Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda and will open their campaign against Tanzania in three first match.
