Harvest Dispute: Man Kills Brother In Borno Over Mango

One Baba Goni Kachalla has been arrested for allegedly killing his elder brother, Kajdi Kachalla.

The incident occurred in Ajari community in Benishek town in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State on Tuesday while the two brothers were fighting over the  harvesting of mango on a farm.

According to a source, during the fight both men inflicted serious injuries on each other using wooden sticks and other weapons

The 40-year-old Kajdi reportedly died after his chest was pierced with a stick by Baba Goni during a heated argument on the consumption of the fruit (mango).

“A heated argument ensured between the two brothers on the consumption of foodstuff.

“The argument later resulted to a fight and the junior brother used a wooden stick to pierce Kajdi’s chest and he fell down,” the source narrated.

When contacted, the state police command confirmed that security personnel evacuated the duo to the General Hospital in Benishiekh.

The police said the elder brother, Kajdi was pronounced dead, while Baba Goni remained under medical care.

AljazirahNigeria reports that the deceased’s body was later released to his family for burial according to Islamic rites.
